Words
Words.
The beauty of words…
Writing them, reading them, speaking them.
They are the gift of expression.
Artwork.
Spilling words onto to pages, filling emptiness with anything.
A song, a poem, a love letter…
The way our fingers form each letter.
Painting masterpieces on parchments.
Guiding a pen through the curves of an S
Like sliding our fingers along the hips of a lover.
The snap of a T on our tongue.
Like the crack of a whip.
Words.
They can be spoken, shouted and whispered
(In dark rooms and quiet places)
They can be thrown out car windows or delicately placed on napkins.
Wishfully, carelessly, hopefully, tumbling out our mouths.
Jumping between tongues, teeth and, lips.
Or trapped…in a lump in our throats.
Words
When welded carelessly can cut deeper than any knives.
Calculated, manipulated, devastating.
Leave scars that never fade.
Break hearts and homes and happiness.
Words can be hard, and heavy, and hurtful.
They can be whips and winding roads.
Strung together like Christmas lights.
Tangled like vines.
Misunderstood.
Words can be lost.
And found.
They can be given and taken.
They can weigh us down or lift us up.
Words have the power to build, to be believed, and to break.
Words can devastate.
They can drowned.
They can hurt.
They can heal, mend, and repair.
Words.
The most dangerous weapon known to man.
Words are the stitches in our fabric.
On our wounds.
Which means gravity hangs on tongues.
We live, love, and breath by
Words.
