A Wish

Kathy Elizabeth Putnam 1965 (Ft Lee Virginia)

The sky was dark and the air was crisp,
and me looking for a star to make my wish.
A love is what I needed and wanted so dear,
a love I could announce for the whole world to hear.
I prayed and prayed to God you see,
a prayer of hope, just for me.
The answer soon came and what do you know,
a star appeared for me to hold.
I took this star and held it tight,
and made my wish on this crisp dark night,
Then it happened, my wish came true,
for the love of my life appeared out of the blue.
So say a prayer and believe in this,
that God is that star, that we all make our wish
