War

From the time when Cromagnon Slaughtered,
peaceful Neanderthal I have beat the drum,
                that led the pack.
From the walls of Jerrico, to besieged Ukraine,
I have led warriors, I came screaming from the
woodland to meet Caesar's advancing legions.
I rode the Pharoah's chariot against his foe.
         Alongside Napoleon I marched,
                   I fought both World Wars,
Korea and Viet Nam, I fought also,
         and so many, many, more.
But at last I have become weary,
oh weary so of blood spilled,
that I at Last have become disgusted,
And my spear is broken, my sword snapped and
          well rusted,
I march to War no more.
