Storing Up Wrath

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Why would I go and cut wood for a fire?
That’s started to burn me up?
If that’s your desire then you cut the wood
And God will say when it’s enough!

I praise you; you’re gracious. I love you my Lord
But I know that there is an end
And when we have reached it there’s no turning back
And nothing that we can defend!

The nations rage against the Lord
The peoples plot in vain
