Misty

Misty had a baby when I met her twenty years ago
He was one
She also had a daughter
I had none
She told me she had a man but I dismissed her truth
Now regret has become my truth
She got married she got divorced
I loved her through it all
Now fast forward she has another child
I have none
Oh if I had listened to all the naysayers
God didn't even waste his time with my prayers
I'm all alone but sometimes she'll come see me
That's when I feel like it was all worth it
When she leaves I understand as a child I wasn't nurtured
If I was then I would have made a better choice
The audio Bible is as close as I have come to hearing Gods voice
With age should have came wisdom but I feel just as dumb
To think she could have been mine
But to her I was just for fun
I'm sorry I say to myself because I honestly brought all this on myself
I love Misty
She even told me she loves me
I told her I want to marry her and she said we'll see what the future brings
