Necessity

Charles Lowery 1966 (columbus, ohio)

Like the breath of life through the flood in my veins
My spirits eternal, my love stays the same.
Over the years which passed and gone
A melody in my heart plays our favorite song
For this seperations a delimma of the heart
Taking me back to the beginning, to the start
To a time when our innonces set us free
Two hearts incited to Necessity
How long must we wait to be together again?
How long must I be seperated from my lover, my friend
For my legs are crippled, they will not move
And mind accepts nothing but images of you
My ears cannot hear, my eyes do not see
This tongue does not taste, these lungs will not breathe
My hands, though they touch, the sensations not real
I need you back in my arms so once again I might feel
For in this place its cold and alone
Only you can take me back to our comforts zone
Where my ears can hear, only again my eyes will see
And One love takes us back to Necessity
