Aqua
To simply say
We’re made of water
Belittles water–
The ocean of our souls
Salty, like cocktail olives
Or the margarita kisses
that hang their surf on summer lips.
Some say water is the all of us
Dwelling in every cell
Born from the well of the world.
Water falls, but never dies,
Washes guilt and sin
And sometimes bursts within–
Undammed,
Gushing to the parched
And thirsty hearts of these
So lonely continents.
