Beware of That Russian Bear’s Hug!
Karl Constantine FOLKES 1935 (Portland)
The world endangered
By an unstable statesman.
His name is Putin.
A deployer of darkness.
His habitat — Inferno.
Ukraine is mere ploy
For some deeper engagement
By this mad leader
To seize absolute power
And claim himself dictator.
Russian cyber threat
Of worldwide devastation
Is the beginning…
Russian malware increasing
To infect our substations.
Power grid failures
As terrorist intentions
To cause “Blackout Days”
And undermine our safety.
We need to “up the ante.”
The signs are now clear
Of what his intentions are:
Ruler of the world.
Eliminating others —
Leaders of other nations.
The die has been cast.
The signs not ambiguous.
Governments are warned
To contain the Russian Bear
By all means necessary.
Its fangs are vicious.
Its appetite merciless.
Its greed unending:
To pillage every nation
And hold them as his trophies.
But let’s not panic.
Let us adopt those measures
To protect ourselves
Through timely interventions
To stem all threats of danger.
About this poem
Beware of that Russian Bear’s Hug! We, the entire world, have now come to realize that the long-standing Russo-Ukrainian war, initiated in February 2014, following the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity, with a war that initially focused on Crimea and the Donbas, and since then expanded significantly in 2022 by a full-scale invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine, has become a severe threat to the peace of all nations and to the peace of the entire world. A Russian Bear has left the confines of its native habitat, and is now roaming dangerously footloose to destroy everything that is in its wake. It must be contained immediately, by all means necessary, to preserve the safety of all nations. more »
