Physics

“I would, forevermore, despairingly hope...”
Because, to me, there was never physics in the stars
The gleam brought to an end any need for explanations
In some mystical way, it sparkled
Faster than the fastest
Then, ricocheting unawareness
Of the burning in the dark
Even of a flame to a moth
And as I found myself unable to see
Undistinguished
My windows were open for sunlight
But, to you, ’eyes meet eyes’ was never enough
Flickering does not last forever
And I would, forevermore, despairingly hope
But, too soon, there was no more reason to waste ink
