The Beach

Hot sand on the beach
Only disturbed by a child’s screech
Sand in between your toes
Leave behind all your woes
Slip into a sleep sweet as a peach
Too lazy for movement or speech
No more energy, the warmth like a leech
The beach doesn’t care if you’re in your highs or lows
Hot sand as far as sight can reach
Sandwiches for everyone, one each
Everyone sitting on their breech
The smell of the ocean in your nose
Makes you want to nod and doze
When it’s time to go, everyone will beseech
Hot sand on the beach is the most exceptional thing to be around, they teach.
