Apple Orchard

George Taylor Jenkins 1839 (Kentucky) – 1913 (United States)

Have you ever seen an orchard
With the apple trees in bloom?
Have you ever caught the fragrance
Of their wonderful perfume?

Oh, there's glory in the fragrance
And there's beauty in the sight,
And you couldn't feel unhappy,
if you tried with all your might.

For the birds are all a-winging,
And the honey bees are out;
And everything is singing-
Even ev'ry tiny sprout

Of, the grass that comes a-springing
From the warm and mellow earth,
While each new-born leaf is quiv'ring
With happiness and mirth,

And there's nothing any fairer-
Not the fairest day in June-
Than a day in Spring when skies are blue,
With apple trees in bloom.
