You and I

You and I,
We love to explore,
From competitors to something more
Your every move feels enchanting
Like a star, always sparkling.

An inner voice tells me to hold on
Yet my eyes drift upon
                          ...your face...
I see your eyes, your smile, your lips...
How can I resist?

I take you in with every breath
The sweet and sour
I all confess
A burning desire takes over
The kind I cannot conquer

When I wake up, you are next to me,
                     ...smiling...
God... Do I love your smile...
It forces my stomach into whirl
But alas you like a girl.

A dream it was, I woke,
I washed my face,
Called you, spoke
" Good morning " I said,
" Mornin' " you replied,
I humbly look you right in the eyes
"I had a dream of us" - I utter
The tears in my eyes cluster,
I tell you everything, you listen closely,
Then you take a breath and tell me calmly:

                                     ...

I don't listen, I cannot
I knew the answer before you spoke
I will keep hiding in my cloak...
Just one thing I wish won't change:
You will always be my dearest friend.
