Untyped Scribble Circa Bachelard Studies at PGI
Water is the unconscious,
is the unbridled creativity,
the field of dreams—
all run one into another,
as in the interconnectedness and interpenetratingness of the Helixical Fractality of Life—,
is the nourisher of life and the sap in the trees
that brings shade, protection, flowers, and fruits.
Water is as integral to nature as earth,
as the air,
as the sun;
all linked and folded one into the other
in an extroverted choreography
that one’s eyes can wish pivotal prints
and mundane events of surety
as one must step to partake of Nature again all over.
Of course, Earth/Nature has a soul,
it is plain to see
for those willing to draw back the blinds
of human achievement to see
the window dressing for what it is,
alongside the unveiling
of the awesome power of Nature.
Nature fights us for our idiocy,
not simply to awaken the unconscious masses
operating incognito—
for were they to see,
truly see what they do,
then these foolish perpetuations
of discord and disharmony would rapidly lose
to the efforts much more environmonious*—
but to also remind us of our inability
to dominate Nature
as some wish to do.
*Environmonious: Acting in a stewardly way that is environmentally harmonious (SMPotter, Deftnitions; pg. 7, column 1).
Deftnitions: A deftly defined definition or definitions deftly defined, which may be invented words or word combinations, or be a commonly used word used in uncommon ways, such as gamey (SMPotter, Deftnitions; pg. 6, column 2).
About this poem
This poem arose after reading Bachelard's philosophical Water treatment. He ought to be required reading for all students in high school and then again in undergrad to see how their attitudes change and perceptions heighten. His philosophical treatments of the elements are a true testament to the amazing profundity that arises when deeply considering any aspect of our wondrous planet! My own philosophy of life, the Helixical Fractality of Life also incorporates Nature. And it is this way of seeing US and WE as interpenetrated by and with Nature, in interconnectedness and interpenetratingnesses that enfold interdependence and more, that allows US and WE to continue as a species hereamong. Without that seeing, We and US will not be hereamong much longer, or will face complete restructuring in order to survive extinction events. more »
