The Age-Old Maple Mahogany Tree

Brittany Wilson 1988 (Milwaukee, WI)

Ode

My parents once had an age-old Maple Mahogany tree
We would glance at it from the dining room window
As we looked at our clock, it sounded off &
Said that the time is quarter after three.

Upon us glancing at this tree, we came across a beehive in front & a wasp nest next to the hive
We were so scared, we almost drove into the tree
But we were safe from harm because of us wearing seatbelts
We made s’mores tonight & hopefully the marshmallows & ooey-gooey chocolate melts.
