Mom
Mommy
Running and playing not a care in the world
5 years old just wanting to be twirled
Run up the hill mommy watch what I can do
Fall down the hill hurt my knee now I'm blue
Mommy I'm hurt please help me out
Your right there for me there was never a doubt
10 years old mom I'm going to play
I'm going with Jimmy I'll be gone for the day
We play in the yard so much to do
Climbing up trees exploring all that is new
I'm sorry I ran right out on the street
I know how fast you got to your feet
I still love you mommy I just need some space
I don't know how to slow down cause I like to race
15 years old and mom I'm gone for the night
Please just let me go don't start a fight
Mom I don't need you every step of the way
I just wanna be with my friends to go out and play
Yes I still love you but don't make me say it
Its embarrassing for me to show my true grit
I'll always come home never forget
I'm still your boy and I'm not done with you yet
30 years old and mom how was your day
I just finished work and I have so much to say
I met this girl and she changed my being
We made it official this girl I am seeing
I know you will like her she's perfect for me
And I honestly can't wait to start a family
40 years old mom the kids want their grandma
and I watch everything that I did with ya
Running and playing kids will be kids
But the light in your face no one forbids
They love you with all they are and so do I
And now that I'm older there's no reason to lie
You've been my whole world up to this point
And I can see that pain in your joint
55 years old and mom your so strong
You've been by my side for so so long
Now I'm by yours as you brave this divide
And your words of wisdom I will always abide
You don't have to worry for my family has it all
And with you in our hearts we honestly can't fall
We gently say good by as we slowly let go
And we all do our best trying not to show
That we hurt more then words at this final journey
You don't have to come over and kiss my knee
So please be at peace with the life you've had
And nothing from here on out will ever be bad.
