A WALK IN THE NIGHT

Kate Carranza 2005 (California)

There's something about the night that calms me down,
But why?.
Is it because there's no one around,
Or because it's quiet.
Without thinking I take a break from my  phone,
And observe the beauty the night holds.
A pearl in the black sea.

 Without music,  my head,
  would be loud.
With throughs that lead to overthinking,
I space out and imagine the what-ifs.
A desire  to walk away,
Far from reality.
A golf ball moon has been hit high into the night sky,
While walking I  see darkness around the buildings.
Fear, not I'm not afraid I have the moon that guides me home.
