A Six String A Six Pack And You
Timothy Stone 1954 (Cincinnati)
I have found myself at the river's edge,
Waters are calm, and the skies are so blue.
Fancy me crazy, this is my pledge,
I love a six-string, a six-pack, and you.
Words flow freely, with you on my mind,
You are with me, whatever I do.
Peaceful rhythm is easy to find,
With a six-string, a six-pack, and you.
Hearing the sighs from people in love,
Watching the Sun as it drops out of view,
I recall wishing on stars on stars above,
While holding a six-string, a six-pack, and you.
You are the love of my life, and always wiil be,
And, it's sad because you don't have a clue,
That you'll , forever, live in the heart of me
Along with six-strings, six-packs of brew.
Sure, I realiize, the concert was rough,
My strings are broke, like my heart, and my brew.
One thing is certain, I've only three loves,
You've got it; six-strings, six-packs, and you.
I thirst for life, with you as my fountain,
I wrote a new song, and I hope it's on cue.
I'm headed , with the Sun, towards the mountains,
Along with a six-string, and six-packs. And you?
About this poem
It pretty much speaks for itself, as though I were the poem, and it was the poet. But, that's okay, I like iot that way.
