Forever...

As I stare at trees

Listening to the early morning birds and breeze

The wind brushing my hair

Feeling the cold, wet concrete on my legs and hands

Smelling the wet grass after it rains

Waiting for good

Or for bad

But never in a-million-years

Did I think this would come

Watching my dad get out of the car

Listening to the whistling wind

That’s when he told me

My sister was gone

Not for a day,

Not for a week,

Not for a month,

Not for a year,

But forever...

Hoping my moms okay

He told me she was not so great

But surving for the family

Me starting to cry

My brother walkes out

Trying to be brave for him

I whipe my tears

Then he knew

The tears running down my face
