And Darkness Falls

A touch of the past haunts my memory true
Throughout lonely days now that I'm without you
And a warm gentle breeze whispers love in the air
It's times like these that I miss your beauty so fair

In no way I regret the way I feel towards you
All the things that I've told you believe they are true
Your happiness was to be most important of all
Even though it would seem I was destined to fall

No where can I find you, I'm left not to see
Even the smell of your perfume how it lingers with me
I've lost you my darling for ages to come
But I'll love you forever till my life is done

So as darkness now falls my world's turned upside down
And I ask God for help to turn things around
I'll never know love if life's without you
And to bare it alone, please, what must I do?

Oh God how I long to be with you again
To draw strength from your nearness to know love without end
But a fool such as I can be easily misled
Not by passionate love but by possessions instead

That's the only true thing that I'm sorry about
Now the gift of your love I'll be forever without
But look to the skies some warm summers eve
And for a brief moment let your thoughts be of me
