The devil's oarsman
Upon the podium the fool does speak
and cheering crowds to him they greet
His eyes shine with a twinkle
and his words are more than sweet
The cheering crowd roars his name
and they all clap to the beat
The fool does know within his soul,
that he just lied and does deceit
Outside, the old man sleeps upon the pavement,
the hungry lad cries in the street
The poor old woman, clothes in tatters
picks the bins for scraps to eat
The devil grins aloft the helm and adds an oarsman to his fleet
For when the skies are rent asunder, God's gaze the fool shall then not cheat
That day the fool shall thus surrender, that the fool shall feel the heat
For he that soweth a righteous seed, of it's sweet fruit he now shall eat
And he that soweth of lies and malice, a vengeful fire shall be his treat
