February Hymn

I found February
to be nothing extraordinary
But when the birds were heard to sing
when I thought I would never hear their ring
I felt the rhythm of the woodpecker
as it carved the rotting bits from my heart

And as the rain falls to the ground,
breathing life into the frosted plants around
So soon, shall it turn to ice
and the skies will be grey twice
For nothing that keeps me stable can stay,
No, everything goes away.
