Flight

She looks out
Unable now to fly the easy courses,
Tiptoe on the season's pedestal of doubt,
Aware of how the sunlight spends its best resources
like parts of a world it does not care about.
Unseduced by leaves that feign a lure of golden night,
She stands, defeated, on the source of flight.

About this poem

I had two choices to make in my life at this time. Neither choice would have promoted my well-being. A paralyzing feeling.
