Assignment

Poetrist_T 1991 (Mpumalanga)

Another astonishing alphabetical assignment
Before bellies bring babies, beloved brothers bruised by bills
Clamouring clouds closing closer
Sophisticated sisters singing symphonic songs
Wishing white weddings, wondering "will we wear..."
X-X-X
Yearning youthful yesteryears
I idolise iconic ideas
Of omnipresent's ornated offerings
Reassuring rest, relegating retaliation, real recognises reality
Universe unanimously usually utilises
Deliberating diligence delightfully dark days die dawning daylight
Establishing eternal essence eliminating envious elements
Far fetched fantasies formulate feeble fiction
Towns twist talk, times tick tock, toes tap tones
Languages long lost, letters languishing literature
Kingdom kings kindly kept kilted
Native needs nations never noticed
Gunned good guaranteed grooming guidelines
Publications please push purposeful pursuit
Quietened quarantined quotes quickly queue
Jab jaws, jail justified justices
Heed heavy hearts hustling hard having high hopes harshly humbled
Visibly venting vital views vehemently
Zooming zodiac zone, zig zag zipped zing
My mornings must manifest meaningful moments multitudes mostly missed

About this poem

It is a response poem to another of my own. A political one. With this one I wanted to step out of politics. Hence the title "Assignment"
