All Found Is Time

Aiyana Jones 2007 (Florida)

My family is fucked up, but so is my mind. Everyday searching, but all found is time. No-one is hopeless, but my hope isn’t mine. Everyday searching, but all found is time. Everything changes, but my change is in dimes. Everyday searching, but all found is time. When will these feelings start to subside? Everyday searching, but all found is time. What will happen when our worlds collide? Everyday searching, but all found is time. You are something, but you are not kind. Everyday searching, but all found is time. Depression is turning my life into rhymes. Everyday searching, but all found is time.  When will the warning bells cease to chime? Everyday searching but all found is time. No matter where we go there will be a sign. Saying, “Everyday searching, But all found is time.” The question will never be clear from my mind. Everyday searching but all found is time. Wait? Everyday searching, but all found. . . is time?

About this poem

This poem is about the protagonist wanting to know why they wake up every morning. They question if their question will ever be answered and they wish they had more answers than Time.
