Fleeting Happiness

Happiness is a myth
It can only be reached so much
The pain has a hold on me
Engraved in my mind
Medicine won’t help me forget
These thoughts never leave me
They linger until I’m weary
Until my soul weaps
Filling up the shell we call a man
A man who suffers
