When it hurts
Pain either makes us or breaks us
People react differently to it
Some yell and lash out at others
They become angry at the world and are not afraid to say so
However, some of us grow quiet and look within trying to figure out what we did wrong to warrant such hurt and heartache
We don't complain not because we can't
We sit in silence because it hurts so bad we can't even put it in words
We sit in silence because we are afraid that if we truly express how we feel more people will get hurt and we know all too well how that feels like and therefore do not wish it upon another soul
However, what they don't tell you about pain is that it's so addictive
Once you get used to it and it's like a shot of heroine
You become so numb you can't feel anything anymore
You no longer know when it hurts or when it stopped hurting
Coz you got high on the pain and forgot what it's like to not be hurting
Or maybe we're just scared that people will get to see us: the real us, broken, beat up, not so pretty, tired, bent and battered by life.....
These are some of the questions we'll never know unless we look deep inside our souls and search....
