Kidstuff

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

When I was a  wee little lad,
My dad always  called me a pipsqueak,
That term did not make me very glad
I was determined to be someone a little unique.

Another name  I got was Little Lord Fauntroy
Because I rode my tricycle so daring and fast.
After all I was just a keen little boy,
I was sure never to be outclassed !

I loved playing marbles and usually losing them all,
We played for keeps, give or take,
One sport I really loved was football
When running I could never put on the brake !

The girls played skipping, double dutch,
Games like hop, skip and jump,
Each girl had the magic touch
Playing jacks and being very nice !

Delicious sweet orange marmalade
Peanut butter in a pan,
I am going to marry a young man,
A real good looking handsome man !

He'll be very sweet and blue eyed
And just a little stout.
Any time and just any time, we want to
We'll eat our dinner out !
