A Letter to the Little Girl Within

Laura Roberts 1958 (Ft Lauderdale, FL)

To the little girl within I say I love you,
even when you are your worst critic
It's alright to self reflect on what you do,
as long as you don't forget that.

To the little girl within I say its alright to love,
even though you've been hurt so many times
And let down by people you trust
as long as you don't forget.

To the little girl within I say its alright to believe in yourself,
when things get tough, remember you gave it your best and that's all we can ask of ourselves.
As long as you don't forget.

To the little girl within I say you are strong,
even when you can't lift yourself up sometimes
Keep that inner peace and know you are you and that's alright.
As long as you don't forget.

To the little girl within I say you are awesome,
even when you have self doubt
You are all that you are meant to be and that's alright.
As long as you don't forget ME.

About this poem

A Letter to the child within that sometimes needs reminding that its alright to just be you! To accept what I was and what I am now. And that's alright to be who you are and what you're meant to be.
