Keep Present; Drop Kick That Past
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Stay on top and not the bottom.
Of your own presence.
Kept to keep,
Updated and present.
With a living each day away,
From a past to have had.
Attempting to change and correct,
Those mistakes made to wish...
Them to be erased.
Keep present.
Focused on the 'Now'.
And not the 'How' to do the best you can.
Keep present.
With a being aware and conscious.
Of every step you make.
Doing it done to move forward.
Without excuses or complaints.
As if life blessed to get,
Is a mission to be burdened...
And meant to tolerate ongoing nonsense.
No martyr should anyone,
Assume to volunteer themselves to be.
Stay present.
And be pleasant to everyone you meet.
With a gritting of teeth if necessary.
Since one never knows,
What tomorrow may bring.
With a listening to hear someone sing,
Those same sad tear dripping songs.
Declaring to be 'wronged'.
By another or something done to them,
To reminisce it revisited...
Over and over again.
As if the blues sung of living through,
Rainy days, cloudy skies...
And stormy weather too,
They would rather live.
To boo-hoo their woes and sorrows.
Than a remaining in the present.
With a presence to have left behind,
Disappointing relationships.
A broken heart incapable to mend.
And a foot stepped upon,
By an unconscious friend now a foe.
Because they had not apologized,
About what had happened,
Way back when.
To believe they should know,
Of this sin to have committed.
And...
Keeping this feeling to believe,
An owed apology is due!
We all someday,
Come to face our childish ways.
To forgive oneself,
First to know it done.
Leaves excuses for anyone to make,
For not living in the present.
NOW!
Not in yesterdays to have gone.
Or tomorrow yet to experience it.
But Today and in the Now.
With a doing one's best,
To forgive and forget all B.S.
Even one's own contribution.
Although...
Difficult the doing may be,
Erasing one's own...
Participation in such activities.
However...
The effort to endeavor,
Will prove more beneficial than not!
After...
Drop kicking that past to have had.
And moving on with a goal to do it!
