Thoughts On a Rainy Day

Jay Ford 1984 (Youngstown, Ohio)

Its been said the gods are crying when it rains.
Crazy how an immortal being can still feel pain.
I also feel that pain, but it ain't the same.
My minds been racing so long, its gotten far from sane.
So many times I've questioned my own existence.
Breaking down my mental with perpetual persistence.
Everyone wants to live forever despite life's insistence.
The best you can hope for is God's forgiveness.
Words of a wish are lost in the air.
Nothing more than a silent blare.
The finer things in life should be the lil things.
But when greed overcomes compassion for one another the devil sings.
The madness consumes sanity with swiftness.
Peace of mind becomes number one on the wish list.
A broken smile fails to hide the truth.
So when it rains, just know the angels are crying for you...
