Heartbeats

Jeanette C. Jimenez 1997 (Canguha, Calape, Bohol)

Seeing you, heart leaps with desire
Instances of ice with fire
In the mid of the day with dire
Holding you like my life line wire.

I vow to be with you in every life twist
Rings and handcuffs in our wrist
Writing adventures in a long list
Letters and thoughts of love exist.

I can’t promise of blissful romance
At least in every rain we have a dance
Just a taste of life at once
Be fair and don’t lose in this trance.

You in my prayers and night’s dream
Love of mine flow like a blood stream
Savor this whip of cream
Cries of love that smiles with beam.

Months away from you bleeds me with a knife
Rather than coarse and dwell in rife
Waiting you to be part of my life
I want me to be the one as your wife.

About this poem

About the woman who is so in love with someone. In her dreams, even his being far away still awaits her love.
