Life has its reason.
Nations rise and fall.
Let this be caution!

About this poem

A cautionary tale: Axiomatic is the riddle of Life. Life has its reason that reason does not comprehend. Each ending offers a new beginning. For life itself is nothing but a circle; the Chthonic, Ouroboros , encompassing both the old and what appears as new. The wherewithal of it is this: Let Wisdom have her Way. There is an old saw which Calliope, patron of poets and musicians, has implored me to share with my fellow Earthlings, and which is a preface to this “Harmony in Balance” haiku poem: “Don’t gloat when you’re on high, for tomorrow you may fall. And when today you’re down, don’t bemoan your fate; for tomorrow you may surely rise. Take everything in stride. Let harmony be your guide.”
