The day was fraught with improprieties
Strung as intermissions
Wrong   clothes
Wrong words
Wrong chewing
Toothpick, fingers
Wrong flowers and gifts
The awkward etiquette
Of a civilized society
That knows how to kiss

But there’s always tomorrow
