My Journey
When My Journey comes to the end
I won’t have to sit back and wonder “WHO WAS MY FRIEND?”
My journey has had a lot of ups and downs
But it won’t end till I’m in the ground
I’ve made some bad choices in my life
Some of those choices I almost called my wife
Thinking we would never part ways
Only to find out they wanted to stray
After to losing my Mom at a young age to Cancer
I searched and searched but still I couldn’t find an answer
I have not been the best Friend, Husband, Son or Dad
Which I try to do better only to screw up again and that makes me sad
I have traveled many places for work; offshore and overseas
Which being on the water always set my mind at ease
I have three daughters in which I love with all my heart
Even though I screw up I hope we never part
In my life I’ve seen too much death
I sat and held my wife’s hand till she took her last breath
I felt like a slug
Because I was the one to pull the plug
I have a heart of gold and would give a stranger the shirt off my back
But when it comes down to it and I need help most only turn their back
I don’t want any pity
But looking back some of my life has been pretty shitty
I’ve had many relationships and they would all call me “honey”
But only because they wanted that money
One thing I worry about and it scares me to the bone
Is when I die I’ll be there all alone
But when I do die I don’t want anyone to cry
I just hope someone will look up into the sky and say “He was a good guy”
And when the journey comes to the end for me
I will be cremated and my ashes set off to sea
