Politically Played

The election game on many fields of play,
Has become these days no different...
Than a witnessing professional athletes,
Srimmaging to stir up their adoring fans...
As if they were cheering constituents.
Choosing which side to pick to win,
A perceived championship.
Awaiting to share anticipated benefits.
Leaving those secretly wealthy and elite,
Calling the 'shots'...
Distant and far away from the 'have nots'.
To manipulate activities on Wall Street.
With this done to have it,
Overwhelmingly accept to believe...
The stock market determines,
How healthy the economy is.
When few who cheer,
From cold bleechers to sit...
Neither concerned nor worried,
About the ups and downs...
Of where their investments may drift.

Stocks and bonds,
And investments like these...
Seem more on the minds,
Of well paid politicians.
And unknown lobbyists.
Representing impeccably dressed,
Crooks and thieves.
Associates doing their best to deceive,
A lust for greed and feasted gluttony.
Hoping their identities remain credible.
With a staying to charade a masquerade.
Regardless...
Who may or may not be,
Announced the winner of a game played!
Or...
Who proclaims in public to declare,
A sustained to maintain loyalty...
To a political affiliation.

Since...
When the crowd leaves packed bleechers,
And the performance on the field ends.
All with pockets spilling over with cash,
Will gather together...
To ask amongst themselves,
Who it is they should select to be next...
Suspected unconscious enough,
To pass...
The swindle to hoodwinked duping test.
Perfected to go,
Either ignored or unnoticed!

'Oh yeah?
And...
What do you know about politics?'

Hmmm.
Not much.
I'm just your average observer.
The frauding?
Is well done yet obvious.
The corruption?
Although blatant is commendable.
And the cycle of deception?
That has been,
Such a polished to shine revolving door...
Many are awaiting for that assignment.

'I see.
So...
You personally can not say,
Experience to acquire it, you don't have?
Correct?'

I can only admit,
If that is a pre-requisite...
You are right.
Is it a must to have?
To determine me qualified to lie.
Cheat and deceive?
Afterall...
I did pay to be duped.

'And how on Earth,
Would you pay to be duped?'

It's a long story.
I'll shorten it for you.
Every time I have gone to vote,
I find myself volunteering to buy coffee...
For those like myself,
Waiting in those long lines.
Hoping for change.
To now pray our votes,
Turn that change into dollar bills.
