My Baby

Clipping and trimmings fall to the floor
Into the cracks and under the door
Hold still I request
But she won’t — that’s alright
I’ll trim those damn nails
So put up your fight

Now it’s time for her bath
That she never adores
Dripping soap and hot water
Onto the floors

I think there’s one thing
That she hath forgot
I am your mother
You ungrateful tot

And although she may claw
And wriggle and writhe
I love my cute puppy
And I love her cute eyes
