Whirlwind

Tammara Cappellano 1958 (Vancouver, Wa)

My life has been a whirlwind.
And this pain has made me numb;
Each battle fought until the end,
To find a new one's just begun.

I never trusted anyone;
Or believed in what they said.
Because they were the enemy;
Who hoped that I was dead.

And the few that I believed in,
For those who had my heart;
The ones I truly looked upon;
Tore my soul apart.

My life has been a hurricane;
In a world that doesn't care.
Only emptiness remains;
Taking me to deep despair.

I thought I finally found the one.
Who could hold me in one place.
Wrap me deep within his arms,
And keep me warm and safe.

The room felt warm and didn't move;
I could stand and not fall down.
I thought I found my gentle side;
And my life this hero found.

My life's a huge tornado;
That destroys what's in it's way;
Devastating everything;
No matter what I say.
