After The Rain Stops
Damisha Merchant 1990 (Newyork)
Before I Met Him I Had Rainy Days.
Tears Hit The Window Pane As Memories Replayed.
Betrayal Happens When You Care Too Much.
Can I Actually Love Another Man? Can They Really Earn My Trust?
Or Is My Pain Just Too Much? And Letting People In Too Tough?
Alone Again In My Feelings Because I’m For Real, and To Them It’s Lust.
I Don’t Want To Guard My Heart No More, Letting Go Is A Must.
A Must To Truly Build A Bond & A Connection.
I Have To Let Go Of The Expectation That I Have To Take A New Direction.
Holding Up These Massive Walls Was My Way Of Self- Protection.
But It’s Been Dark for Too Long My Spirits Need Affection.
Try Again and Forgive Myself for The Burns, Scars, and The Bruising Along The Way.
Damaged Girl With Something To Say. Do Not Push Away Your Blessings.
Those Trials and Tribulations Were Key To Learning Those Lessons, and To Sharpen Your Mindset So You Wouldn’t Have To Question.
Question Love Again When It Comes Through In Form Of A Friend, and Do Not Pretend I Don’t Want To Let Love In.
A Best Friend I Can Defend With Time I Love To Spend. No Bad Intentions!! Unconditional Love To The End.
Rainy Days Go Away and Please Stay Gone Awhile. My Heart Is Safe In His Hands!!
No More Running Away We Were Brought Together In God’s Plans.
I Opened My Window To Sunshine!!
Now All Is Feel Beneath My Feet Is White Sand, and All I See Is MY MAN!!
