He looked like you

Sheila A Morgan 1951 (Baltimore)

I seen a man, he looked like you,
I couldn't help but stare, I was stuck like glue.
The way he kept his hair,  his beard too,
He even held his hands like you used to.
I wanted to run to him and call him dad,
I started to cry,  it made me so sad.
He looked like you in so many ways,
But he wasn't you,  I was amazed.
I turned to leave,  I had to go,
But first, one more look, I couldn't let go.
I went on my way with you on my mind,
Just one more look,  you look  so kind.
You were gone, where did you go ?
Were you just a dream ? I just don't know.
I hope I will see you again and see,
The image of my dad looking back at me.
