To Have Not

Days go by...sunny, warm days.
But I'm cold inside, wanting to see you.
I want to understand what changed.
Without that, I'm stuck in cold, damp rains.
\How can you turn on me so fast?
Why can't I make a moment last?
You are in my head all day,
But for you, the same, I cannot say...
\Do you think of the time we had?
Do you know you did me wrong?
Do you think you're really that strong?
Your cowardice is what is showing,
For we both know that you can't love.
Because you hate yourself so much.
And now I do too...but I still miss your touch...

About this poem

And when that slick veneer washes away to reveal that classic emotional vampire sucking out your joy and happiness and innocence.
