Sun Rise

Got up early enough this morning
to open the curtain
of the window
that faces east
& saw the feast
of the sun opening
the sky with a color palette--
always different blends & shades
& cloud accents,
it's like a personal greeting to me
& all the lucky creatures
who open their eyes
early enough
to say "Hello creation"
& creation responds
"Look what I colored for you today!"
