And So It May Rain
And so it may rain this day we meet
Might even snow and turn to sleet
But my endless tears and chilled cold heart
Each day that passes and we're apart
Makes nature's harshest and its worst
Pale in comparison to a true love's thirst
I hear the Sun will hardly be seen
Nor the grass glow its brightest green
The winds may howl and skies grow dark
The trees could bend and rip their bark
But your smile would brighten the darkest day
And make all these things just fade away
And so let it rain anytime we meet
And let it snow and turn to sleet
Let winds howl and skies turn grey
Once we're together it's a beautiful day
About this poem
It simply speaks of the beauty and strength of true love, be it friendship or romance, and how it is more powerful in comparison to anything adverse it may face. Nature's worst only serving as one such metaphor.
