Natures Captive

Its canopy hugs me
Disguising daylight
Casting away the suns heat
Its boundless canvas
Teaming with life often unseen
Conscious of a strangers gait
Welcoming but aware
Only exposing enough to tease
Superbly constructed
An image so perfect and precise
Chaotic in its abundance
Flawless in its form
An endless bounty in itself
Eternal in its self reliance
Both youthful and new, while aging and frail
In a moments time, man can be forever lost
Succumbing not to its unfamiliarity and vastness
Falling victim instead to his inability to grasp its smothering hold on his senses
Choosing to be lost
While fearing to be found
