Emptiness

Luring shadows begin to fall
Darkness swallow's all that's true
The cold wind starts to call
Hunger feeds on all that's new
With all the passing time
And all the fading memories
My mind begins to unwind
And all others seem to flee
Thoughts run through my mind
Emptiness and solitude a part of time
Time slowly ticks away
Wasting away the day
Day turns to night
There seems no end in sight
Emotions run on high
Repeatedly asking myself... why?
