A Lost Soul

Who am I, what is it I seek
My journey continues up rocky peaks
Know not, what I want or need
Or what really will get me freed

My today, I enjoy and savor it all
Tomorrow, another day that to me calls
Years now have flown by me, you see
Here I am still wondering, who is me?

New found friendship growing strong
Sense of togetherness, to finally belong
But worried am I of its consequences
Build around me I am, thick dark fences

Hiding myself behind its walls
My lost soul, a cold stone so they call
Don’t I want to be loved and cared
But have shut my heart, for I am scared

In still search of myself, am I how?
When I can't be true to myself or anyone now
What could I search for when I cannot see
Nor feel the love that lingers around me

My past to me is not forgotten
It is a place I visit so very often
To understand what all went wrong
And why today isn’t that very strong

My yesterday had been a better day
Today I can only cherish that it had come my way
Should have let it bring joy into my tomorrow
But pushed it away and now search I in sorrow

I see it hanging by its shining thread
Deep waters I am now willing to tread
Dive must I and grasp it tight
Never let it again out of my sight

Shall make my yesterday my tomorrow to be
My today though lonely was reflective to me
Showed me what I needed to see
My search stops here, you, is what I need besides me

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
