What a ride…
Carrie Zis 1981 (Narrogin)
Living my life and baring my soul
But I have never been lucky this repeat is getting old
I have to change how I think it’s what’s holding me back don’t you think
Finally growing up, I am so slow
I couldn’t give up that party in my heart
But now I realise it’s better to put that energy in art
I will get better at this thing called life
Because I will never be your wife
I had a dream, an exaggerated fantasy
I’m kinda glad it wasn’t really destiny
No one could up hold your fucked up lies, the double standards, and your harsh mind
The weak will prey on the true and strong because we do not need to belong
We are strong we choose our path but it doesn’t mean it’s not rocky or hard
That’s how you become a excellent example, of what can come of the broken hearted
It has a light inside so bright, those that are scared try to put it out, my light is so strong you only made it brighter
Now watch me grow and shine like a star
You’ll never again be close enough to take a hold of my heart, it’s so shattered I’m not sure it can mend
But that’s ok I don’t mind solitude it’s kind of a relief not to have to make sure your unrealistic expectations are met, again f*ck your double standards, f*ck your lies, f*ck your shit but what a ride....
