Heart That Never Changed
There are things in life that continuously change
The summer will become fall and that to winter
Time will continue and this earth will grow older
One thing that will never change is my heart that erupts with love every time I see you
These are my words from my heart and they will live out for eternity
You may have moved on like the seasons and time and that’s okay but I wish for one more day with you
Not just any day but a lifetime
Even in a lifetime, I could still not capture your beauty for only God himself can create a masterpiece such as you
Wish to take you to the stars and explore every place this universe has to offer
Wish to lay in bed and curl up next to you on my darkest days while you lay on my chest and we both drink till the sunlight
Wish for the next day to give me life for it would mean I see your smile
Wishing is long gone, for you to have moved on and started the next chapter of your life without me
Trying to stop you would be my greatest downfall
I am letting you go from me but not from my heart
As you move on I hope you think of us but only for a second for anything past will not be pleasant
I will do the same but I will pause a second longer and welcome in everything even if it means crying for a brief moment for this heart has never changed
I would wait until the stars explode and the sun dies for you to come back to me
Even if you never did I would still wait because anticipating your return would be my greatest joy
I expect and hope you will not do the same for you are worth more than what you gave to this heart that has never changed
Wanting to love you for the rest of my life would be the one the greatest honors of all
Yet, letting you go would be the most honorable thing I could ever do
Our love that lasted only for a brief moment in the sands of time was as bright as any star that could shine
Like all stars, they lose their shine but I will always hold a piece of our light until the end of time because this heart has never changed
