Amnesia Awaits My Visit

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Has anyone ever heard,
Of someone who had been threatened...
By another in coma.
Laying peacefully enjoying it.
Yet seems to begin becoming irritated.
And tired of those,
Repeatedly telling them told...
To snap out of it!
Then to witness this comatose victim reveal,
A preference to have had amnesia.
As to tell those to pretend not to know,
Where to go, what to kiss and when.

'He's moving. He is opening his eyes.
Thank God he survived,
That nasty fall down the stairs.
He is whispering.
Let us listen closely.
Speak to us. We are here to hear your words.'

'I...wish...you...joy...happiness...and love.
Done...to do...as...far away...from me...
As you...possibly...can.
Done to leave me...as you...always...do.
To ignore...like...before...you thought...
I was...about to...die!'

'What an unusual request.
I suspect he has acquired amnesia.'

'Not...yet...I am...doing...my best,
To...achieve...that...now...idiots!'

'That fall!?
Had to have been very severe.'

'Apparently...not...severe...enough!
Oh!
It's all coming back to me now.'

'What is, my brutha?
Share we it us your vision.'

'You are not idiots at all.
Just fools.
I now must apologize.
Amnesia awaits my long and welcomed visit!'

'This nonsense is crazy!'

'Please...do not...recommend...or suggest,
It...become...normalized.
