The road of life

The road I've been down, has been nothing but pain. The tears that I shed, I shed them in vain.
The life that I lived, the pain that I felt, the way I grew up, or the cards I was delt.
I keep losing myself, no matter which way I turn.
Looking for answers, and getting nothing but burned.
Waisting away in this prison of life, trying to deal with the pain and the strife.
Making a life with drugs and crime. Loosing my family, my friends and my mind.
I get down on my knees, and pray everyday. "Lord, give me strength, please show me the way?"
No matter how hard I try, I fall flat on face. Hoping for sanity, before my life is erased.
I keep asking myself, "what is life all about?" I try to have faith, but have nothing but doubt.
I walk in shadows, to hide the pain.
Hoping to make it, without going insane.
Now here comes another road, which way do I turn? After all these years praying, I've finally learned.
There are no answers to life, only questions remain. And if I keep walking in circles, things will never change.
I'm at the end of this road, now I think I'll go straight. Leaving behind the past, and testing my fate.
Now I'm out of the shadows, and my future looks bright. And at the end of the tunnel, I can see the light.
I'm taking for granted, the road up ahead. Fulfilling my dreams, before I am dead.
Leaving behind a past I regret, because down this road of life, there's a better life yet.
