A child’s eyes

Before my eyes ever opened,
I remember the first thing I ever saw,
I visualised my mothers face,
Before I was even born,
I felt her every heartbeat,
I knew when she was sad,
I smiled if she was happy,
I wriggled if she was mad,
I imagined her face when she saw me,
As I grew so big and strong,
I listened to her voice with joy,
I knew it wouldn’t be long,
I pictured how she’d hold me tight,
I dreamt of how my life would be,
With someone so beautiful to learn from,
I wondered what excitement awaited me,
Her love flowed threw my every vein,
As I am a true part of her,
My arrival came so quickly,
Yet still I had no fear,
I felt her presence beneath me,
As they placed me on her skin,
Now I was here beside her,
My life about to begin,
This is how it started,
This is where it all began,
And now just like my mother,
Thankfully I am a doting mam
